21-day challenge: kitchen cabinets

It hasn’t been that long since I organized our cabinets in the kitchen, and most of them were looking good.

But, of course, there is always one….or in this case, two.

The cabinets where I keep my serve ware/entertaining stuff was looking pretty bad. And things fell out when you opened the door. Not good.

In true Organized and SIMPLIFIED fashion, I emptied the cabinets completely. I purged some things, put the big crock pot and George Foreman in the pantry with the other appliances, and began organizing.

When I was done, the cabinets looked like this:

And then there are my kids’ cabinets:

Hot. Dang.

I decided to take out everything that isn’t used or needed, and throw away containers with missing lids. Or expired snacks/foods. Or things that were broken or warped by the dishwasher.

Then, I put everything back and straightened up.

Our spice cabinet then looked all messy and horrible next to these neat cabinets so I gave it a makeover, too.

Our kitchen is looking way better and is a lot more functional. I’m glad we reorganized it, even if it was a really big job.

Here’s what’s coming up next on the 21-day organizing challenge:

We have had to get a little out of order, since it’s 11 degrees out and too cold to organize the garage, outdoors, or vehicles.

Tune in tomorrow for a look at our dresser purging and organizing!
