21-day challenge: vehicles

We just organized our van not too long ago, but as vehicles tend to do, it got horribly messy again.

We spend a lot of time in our van and sometimes I feel like we live in the thing. At any given time, you can find kids’ toys, Emorie’s gymnastics stuff, headphones, DVDs, stuff I’m taking to the thrift store/ consignment shop, “traveling with a baby stuff…” well, you get the idea.

I’m just going to let these “before” photos speak for themselves.

This is the back seat floor.

And that’s the “trunk” area of my van.

Yikes.

I started by putting away things that actually do belong in the van and making a pile of things that belong in the house.

I put the girls’ toys and coloring books in this bag to keep them from being all over the van.

I used a separate bag to corral baby feeding items, like finger food mats, the high chair cover, and an extra cup and bowl.

My trunk organizer was a bit smashed from having junk piles on it, so I reinforced it with these file boxes I repurposed from our office.

This organizer holds some extra clothes and diapers, but also an emergency vehicle kit I put together awhile back.

When I was finished, all that remained was our stroller, our car organizer and a Rubbermaid tote filled with things to donate. Not bad!

Let’s see that before and after again:

And here’s what’s coming up next on the 21-day challenge.

See you tomorrow!
