My grandparents and my husband’s grandparents both used to can vegetables from their gardens.
About a year ago, both my father in law and my grandparents gave me some gallon jars, as I needed them to create glass pantry canisters.
I knew I wanted to use them for Christmas decorating somehow, butting was out of ideas. I spotted this cute little light up house at Jo Ann Fabric and I knew immediately what I wanted to do.
I poured some Epsom salt into the jar and popped a bottle brush tree into the salt. Alas, my cute little house wouldn’t fit into the mouth of the jar!! Grrr!
Not to worry. I spotted this handsome fellow at Tractor Supply.
Doesn’t he look right at home in my snow jar?
As for the cute little house?
It found a home in our ice bucket.
These snowscape jars are simple and fun to make. I truly enjoyed making these tiny worlds in a jar.
