24 Days of Christmas: Christmas Trees from Styrofoam Cones

I found some of these Styrofoam cones on clearance at Michael’s and I wondered what I could make with them.

I quickly started perusing Pinterest and I found a host of awesome ideas, like this one:

While I liked this idea, I decided to go with something I already had in my stash.

I used hot glue to secure the edges to the cone, and then I just wrapped it around. When I finished, this is what I had:

I put them in my daughter’s room. These sweater trees are so cute, and the pink is so perfect in my girls’ room.

24 Days of Christmas: DIY Popsicle Stick Sled Ornaments

I love DIY ornaments, especially when I can make them with my kids. These popsicle stick sleds were easy, cheap and fun! My kids love anytime they get to get the paint out, so this was right up their alley.

First, get a bag of popsicle sticks. These are from Dollar Tree.

You will need eight of them.

Color or paint five of the sticks red, one of them brown and two of them gray.

Then, you’ll need to glue them so that there’s an angle on the end. You’ll also have to cut two shorter sticks for your “crossbars” of your sled.

From the back:

Then, glue the runners to the sides of what’s pictured above.

Which will look like this. Repeat, so that you have two runners.

Then, glue a pipe cleaner or yarn to the back for a hanger.

I hope your kids enjoy making these ornaments as much as I did!
