http://retard-de-regles.com/custom-dissertation-writing-ethics/ Now that the weather is getting colder, we are choosing to stay home and in the heat. We love snuggling up in our living room with our favorite healthy snacks and some comfy blankets.

http://apnee.ffessm.fr/?nuig-phd-thesis We love popcorn at our house, and while we love popcorn with just butter and salt, we decided to be a little creative.

http://bnteams.com/?p=john-f-kennedy-research-paper I decided it might add a little extra element of fun if we made our own tasty flavored popcorn. We used the Skinny Pop microwave popcorn and a number of spices and ingredients we already had on hand.

dissertation stress help We definitely have a sweet tooth around here, so we used a little cocoa powder and some sugar free maple syrup. We were out of marshmallows, but would have added them for a “maple smores popcorn.” Still, our chocolate maple popcorn tasted like fall and it was wonderful.

We also decided to create a popcorn flavor inspired by one of our favorite tasty treats: pizza.

DSC_0046

We added parmesan cheese and garlic salt to our popcorn. It tasted great, and we ate all of it!

Of course, if you’re not interested in making your own popcorn flavors, Skinny Pop makes popcorn cakes and mini popcorn cakes in three flavors: sharp cheddar, maple and brown sugar and white cheddar. They are fantastic and we eat them all the time.

Even tiny snackers love the sweet maple brown sugar popcorn cakes.

Get yourself some Skinny Pop popcorn, open your spice cabinet and get creative! Your kids will love it and you just might create your new favorite snack.

Happy second birthday, Aubrey!

Today, this beautiful, wild but exuberant little cherub turns two.

Two years and nine months ago, we were excited and nervous to learn we were expecting again after a heartbreaking loss. I knew she was a girl before the ultrasound revealed her gender.

Her playful spirit and her contagious laughter keep us entertained.

She’s stubborn but sweet, cute but wild and she never stops talking. She loves baby dolls, Veggie Tales, animals and dancing.

She also loves her sister, even though she has a funny way of showing it sometimes.

Happy birthday, sweet girl.

We are so thankful God chose us to be your family.

Real life: 6 lifestyle changes I’m making right now

As you know, my family is currently experiencing a difficult time. We are adjusting to our new normal and we are honestly just doing the best we can. I want to take some time today to share some lifestyle changes I am currently making.

1. Bible reading and faith

I got out of my routine while out of work, and my walk with God has suffered. I am trying to read His word and pray daily. I was doing really well with this, but then I just…stopped. I am trying to let go of the excuses and stop going through the motions and just be.

2. Be more present

I’ve got a bad habit lately of disappearing in my smartphone when I don’t want to talk or when I’m not feeling up to par. Lately I’ve started putting away the phone after 5 and just spending time with my family. It’s amazing how much being with your family can lift your spirit.

3. Get some exercise each day

I have been trying for awhile now to exercise each day, but I got out of practice. Now I’m doing at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. I don’t always want to or feel like it, but I always feel better when I’m done.

4. Change my diet, change my life

I have been doing Trim Healthy Mama for almost two years now, though I did stop for a bit shortly after my dad died. I ended up gaining weight and feeling pretty poorly. Now I’m back on track and feeling better.

5. Read more books

I love to read but often wait until long breaks from school to read anything, citing lack of time as an excuse.  I have decided to read for a few minutes each night, no matter how long it takes me to finish it.

6. Slow down

Too often, I feel like I am in a hurry. I feel like I am always on the go and I never stop and rest. I’ve decided to take a moment here and there to just be silent and just…be. It’s amazing what we notice when we aren’t too busy to stop and take a look around.

What changes are you making in your lives this month?

Happy birthday, Emorie

Tomorrow, this sweet girl will turn six. She came into the world on June 18, 2011, 3 weeks early. Her birth happened so fast that her doctor missed it and she was delivered by a random doctor I’d never seen before.

Her big heart and sweet spirit have been such a blessing to us.

She’s caring, she’s kind and she’s helpful to others.

She’s mischievous and silly but she’s lots of fun.

She’s a big personality in a tiny body. She’s laughter and sunshine and happiness in human form.

She’s a great sister and a wonderful daughter.

Watching her grow up is a pleasure, and everyday I’m thankful the Lord chose us to be Emorie’s parents.

I can’t wait to see who Emorie grows up to be.

Happy birthday, sweet girl.

Week in review Wednesday

What a busy but wonderful week.

We started our weekend by purchasing a big girl booster seat for our kindergartener.

I decided it was time for a change, so I had my nappy waist length hair cut to my shoulders. It looks and feels so. much. better. Thanks, Crystal!

This little cutie has really been tossing out the smiles lately!

On Sunday we went to church and this girl looked so grown:

On Monday, I moved out of the classroom I’ve occupied for the last five years.I am excited about my new journey but will truly miss my friends and the community in which I taught.
I moved my things into my new classroom, which I will begin setting up this week.

I have a busy rest of the week ahead but can’t wait to share all those happenings with you next week! Make it a great one!!

Week in review Wednesday

May I be the first to wish you a happy Wednesday! (name that children’s cartoon).

This has been a busy week. Emorie had open house on Thursday, a playdate on Friday, and Saturday, we went to visit my grandmother. I took this super cute pic of the girls looking out my grandma’s French doors.

My kids have grown so much! Our local coffee shop has a wall where the local kiddies can put their height. Look how much Emorie has grown in two months!

Today, my sweetie pie started kindergarten.

I bet you heard me sobbing the way from California. As much as I hate the fact that she’s growing up, I couldn’t be happier with her teachers. I think she’ll have a wonderful school year.
Aubrey has gone back to her babysitter full time. She turned nine months old this week and is growing so fast. It’s hard to believe she is going to be one soon. Anyone want to fist bump?

Have a blessed week. We will see you next week with some exciting news.

Week in review Wednesday

Hi everyone! Boy have we been busy around here. Summer is coming to a close and we are preparing to go back to school. This week, we bought school supplies.

Our week started off poorly with both girls not feeling well.

But both girls began to feel better fairly quickly.

Then we went to West Virginia for the weekend to see my grandparents.

The weather is so much nicer up there than around here. We actually got to spend some time outside.

Then we went to visit my aunt and uncle and took a really nice walk with some beautiful views.

We had so much fun! Hope you are having a great week!

Check back tomorrow for some back porch updates.

Week in Review Wednesday

What an extremely busy weekend and week!

This weekend, we went swimming at my husband’s grandmother’s house. Aubrey went swimming for the first time and loved it! Emorie, as usual, didn’t want to get out.

DSC_1753

On Sunday, we went to the church where I grew up and haven’t been in probably 10 years. We went there to watch my cousin participate in the graduate recognition service. I was a little nervous about both my littles being out in “big church,” but both did great.

On Monday, my precious girl had swim class, and she is doing so well. See this video of her jumping in:

My sweet Aubrey has started to crawl a little and she has really been practicing her new skill. I have a feeling this kid is going to be everywhere shortly. Time to buy some baby gates!

On Tuesday, my eighth graders had their transition ceremony and school let out for students. My cousin also graduated high school Tuesday night.

What a blessed, wonderful week it’s been. School will be out for teachers on Thursday. We have so many exciting things planned and I cannot wait!

Week in review Wednesday

We had a very busy weekend this past weekend. First and most importantly, my sweet Emorie graduated from preschool.

image

This is significant because, thirteen years ago, I graduated high school and my first cousin graduated preschool. Now, thirteen years later, my cousin graduates high school this year and my daughter graduated preschool. We took this photo to commemorate the occasions.

image

We also went shopping for school clothes and swimsuits. Check out this cutie modeling her purchases.

Miss Aubrey was quite the cutie this weekend as well. Here are my favorite shots of her.

I hope you’re having a wonderful week. Happy Wednesday.

Week in pictures

We had a wonderful weekend at the Boone house. Here are some sweet moments we managed to capture this weekend:

DSC_1462

“Hi, I’m Aubrey. I don’t like tummy time, but I like Mommy and Daddy’s bed.”

DSC_1464

I probably have hundreds of pictures of them cuddling and sleeping beside one another. It’s just too cute not to photograph.

DSC_1470

Our pasture and some beautiful sunny weather.

DSC_1472

I plan on dressing them alike until they tell me to stop. I don’t do it all the time.

Her shirt says “I am a child of God” and is from Blogthreads.com, run by Layla Palmer of The Lettered Cottage. Proceeds benefit adoption from Three Angels Orphanage in Haiti.

Emorie was playing with Aubrey and she put her headband on her head.

Have a great week! We’ll post more sweet shots next week.
