Weekend Reading

Happy weekend to you!

Something big happened around here this week: this little sunshine finished her first year of school.

She is now a kindergarten graduate! Her last day of school was yesterday, and in August, she’ll be in first grade.

She has had a great school year.

This little stinker rocked her first ponytail and looked adorable.

It’s rainy here this weekend, so you can find us inside, enjoying some cuddles and watching some movies.

Here’s what I’m reading this weekend:

The Comparison Trap by Sandra Stanley

If you’re looking for a Bible study, I highly suggest that you check out this one. I’ve only just started and already I’ve been so blessed.

BHG: Mothers Day gifts

Simple ways to increase the curb appeal of your home

10 plants that will purify the air in your home

A yard built for parties

Have a wonderful week end.

Weekend Reading

I hope you’ve enjoyed your week. Mine had several highlights. For starters, we had a blast celebrating my birthday last week. Thank you all for the sweet messages, too!

I started doing genealogy recently and was able to trace several lines of my family back to the 1700s. I even found the names of some of my ancestors who emigrated from Europe. I even found a few surprises: I’ve always known my maternal grandmother was kin to the McCoys but I never knew my paternal grandmother was kin the the Hatfields. If you’re not familiar with the Hatfield-McCoy saga, I encourage you to check it out.

On another note, here are my great- great-great grandparents, Abel and Sarah Musick.

I’m finding genealogy to be fascinating but really time consuming. I’ll probably delve deeper into it this summer.

Do any of you do genealogy? I love history, so I’d love to chat about it sometime.

Here’s what I’m reading this weekend:

Stonegable: Brighten up your kitchen with white

25 things to do outside with your kids this summer

Cute Mother’s Day gifts to make

Make ahead Mother’s Day desserts

Here’s what we’ll be sharing this week:

Tips and tricks for hanging wall art

Our weekly routines for house management

Wordfull Wednesday quote

A really fun flower pot made from recycled kitchen trash

Farmhouse style lights

Have a great weekend!!

Week in Review Wednesday

Happy Wednesday to you. Last week felt like fall but now we’re seeing temperatures in the eighties again.  North Carolina has some odd weather, to be sure. It may not feel very fall-ish, but it is at least looking like fall.  Our trees they are a changing.

We are actually in the process of tearing out our flower beds in the front and reworking them. We aren’t sure what we want to plant in the beds, but we are actively looking for ideas.

Miss E had the busiest weekend of all of us.  She went to the State Fair on Friday, to a cookout and party on Saturday, had a play date Saturday, and then had church and Christmas play practice on Sunday. Also on Sunday, we celebrated my father in law’s birthday.

And then this little stinker took a few steps this weekend.

I hope you have a great week!!

Week in Review Wednesday

Well, we had big plans for this past weekend.  Big plans.  But then the hurricane came and we decided to stay home and in the dry, warm house.

Emorie tried on my boots and was photobombed by her sister.

Look at that tiny little escapee move! Haha

We cooked a big breakfast and enjoyed lots of sweet girl snuggles.

We listened to the wind howl and the rain fall. We called and checked on our grandparents and we filled gas cans for the generator.

But mostly, we just enjoyed being all together under one roof.

Have a wonderful week.

Week in review

We didn’t do a lot this weekend but we did capture some sweet moments.

Emorie wanted to make a blanket fort and Aubrey didn’t understand why she couldn’t play in it,  too.

And this sweetie climbed into our kitchen cabinets.
Emorie learned her memory versI e and did a little dancing.

I hope you have a wonderful week.  Thanks for reading and supporting me

Week in Review

My sweet family is having an awesome week and I hope yours does,  too.

This tiny girl is getting bigger and more grown up every day.  Her little personality is coming out more and more.

Even when she’s grumpy she’s still so much fun.

And our sweet Emorie.  She is loving school and is learning so much.

And she’s growing soooooo fast!!

We are all doing well and enjoying life.

Even though the weather is rainy this week, I hope you can find some sunshine.  Thanks for reading.

Week in Review Wednesday

We had a pretty boring weekend. We had plans to travel to see my grandparents, but one kiddo came down with a virus before Friday even arrived.

Then, my sweet first born caught it as well.

It was not a fun weekend. Everyone is feeling better and is on the mend.

On the bright side, these pretty little flowers climbed up our garden flag pole.

I hope you’re having a good week.

And next weekend will be better.

Week in review Wednesday

I hope you’re having a wonderful week.

This week my students came back to school. I am teaching sixth grade for the first time in five years and I’ve moved districts. It’s a big change but it was the right thing to do.

These two sweet and cuddly sisters are making us smile everyday. We are so blessed to be their parents.

Things here are busy but good. We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Week in review Wednesday

What a rough weekend! Two  of our foursome were hit hard this weekend by some sort of nasty summer cold. I was one of them. We laid around all weekend and really didn’t accomplish anything.

I captured this sweet moment this weekend. I also have a picture of Michael and Emorie napping together when she was a baby. I treasure these pictures because it’s so obvious how much Michael and the girls love each other.

My poor sick baby. Doesn’t she look sweet in her hat?

This little grown up stole my phone and took some selfies!!

And I realized for about the two hundredth time in recent weeks that she is growing up too fast.

And on Sunday, this beautiful double rainbow was visible outside our house.

I hope your week is wonderful.

Week in review Wednesday

May I be the first to wish you a happy Wednesday! (name that children’s cartoon).

This has been a busy week. Emorie had open house on Thursday, a playdate on Friday, and Saturday, we went to visit my grandmother. I took this super cute pic of the girls looking out my grandma’s French doors.

My kids have grown so much! Our local coffee shop has a wall where the local kiddies can put their height. Look how much Emorie has grown in two months!

Today, my sweetie pie started kindergarten.

I bet you heard me sobbing the way from California. As much as I hate the fact that she’s growing up, I couldn’t be happier with her teachers. I think she’ll have a wonderful school year.
Aubrey has gone back to her babysitter full time. She turned nine months old this week and is growing so fast. It’s hard to believe she is going to be one soon. Anyone want to fist bump?

Have a blessed week. We will see you next week with some exciting news.
