Christmas traditions

Do you and your family have any Christmas traditions that you must do every year? We don’t have many in our family, but we do have a few. We eat breakfast and open gifts with my mother-in-law’s family on Christmas morning, but we also have some small traditions we do here at home. For instance, we always read “The Night Before Christmas” on Christmas Eve, and we love to drink hot chocolate and drive around looking at Christmas lights.

At my parents’ suggestion, we visited the Sunset Hills neighborhood in Greensboro, NC. It is off of Friendly Avenue, and it truly is a sight to behold. There are lights as far as the eye can see and it’s really pretty.

I wish I had thought to bring our camera, because these cell phone pics don’t do it justice.

And my girl, who never falls asleep early, looked like this. Maybe I can persuade them to leave the lights up year round, and we’ll drive through every night.
