DIY: The Cedar Chest Chronicle, Part Two

Well, we are continuing to work on my great grandmother’s cedar chest.

Last week, I had cleaned it up and begun working to remove the veneer with a hair dryer.

We talked with a few local folks and they advised us to get a heat gun. We’ve been slowly but surely chipping away at the veneer with a heat gun and a putty knife.

We aren’t all that much closer but we’re getting there. We are going to try removing the second layer with a chisel.

Hopefully, next week we can update you with a naked cedar chest ūüėÄ

Until then, I’ll continue scraping away at the remaining veneer.
