My favorite season is fall. I absolutely love the cooler temperatures, the colorful leaves and football! I also love decorating my home for fall. That’s when I feel our house is at its finest… When it’s dressed up with pumpkins and burlap and sunflowers!
1. Use natural elements
Mums the word when it comes to fall decorating. Mums come in several colors but my favorites are always the orange ones and the burgundy ones. In the picture, I bought an ugly Christmas container from a local thrift store and spray painted it white. This mum looks pretty in my “ironstone” planter, doesn’t it?
In addition to mums, I love to use pumpkins, pine cones and acorns.
2. Add some texture
Your fall Décor will look great if you just add a little texture to it. I’ve already mentioned using pine cones for a natural element, but did you know they add a lot of texture, too?
I love using burlap. I’ve got a burlap pennant banner, a burlap table runner and burlap covered books.
3. Think outside of the pumpkin box
I love decorating with pumpkins and guords. Love it.
But you don’t have to use pumpkins. A few years ago, I decorated my table with some apples.
Some people like to use apples, pears, and many other things to decorate for fall.
4. Create a vignette using natural elements and complimentary colors
Here I used faux guords, faux sunflowers, and blue enamelware mugs. I positioned all of that on a tiered serving tray. I love how the blue contrasts the yellow and orange in the pumpkins and sunflowers.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my favorite fall decorating tips. Have a great day!!
