Some of us are gearing up to watch the Kentucky Derby tomorrow. The luckier ones are gearing up to GO to the Kentucky Derby. Some of us are even hosting parties. I would love to, but we just have waaayyy too much going on. We’ll definitely be watching, and even my busy schedule these days won’t stop me from styling a Southern Kentucky Derby party that is elegant and fun. I put together this mood board to style a gorgeous party, and even took the time to plan my party ensemble.
You can’t celebrate the Race for the Roses without, well, roses. And what better way to display them but with a mint julep cup? Even better- make it a Kentucky Derby commemorative Mint Julep cup! And what better way to serve those drinks but in mason jars and mint julep cups? Crisp white linen table cloths complete the elegant look.
This super cute way of displaying silverware is sure to get people talking. I’d just be sure to have napkins that matched this sweet “Derby Days” banner and decor set I found on Etsy.
And as for my outfit, I chose to keep it classically Southern with a little black dress, pearls, a large coordinating hat (mine is monogrammed) and a pair of slingbacks.
Ya’ll have fun, now. (P.S., my money is on Gun Runner 🙂 )
