Some of you know we are in the midst of re-landscaping our front yard/the front of our house. When we moved in three years ago, our front yard looked like this:
We bought our home from a retired couple who were avid gardeners. We both work full time jobs and are NOT avid gardeners. What existed in these foundation gardens only looked good two months out of the year, when I had the time to make it look like something.
The rest of the year? Not so much.
We made the decision to tear out everything in favor of something far less demanding, maintenance wise.
Here is what we’re currently rocking. A blank slate.
This weekend, we visited a nursery that we’d noticed and driven by many times but had never visited. They were super helpful, and using only some pictures and a description of our yard, they sent us on our way with a bouquet of plants, and even a rough sketch of what they’d recommend for our yard.
We’re thinking of using tea olives,
And dark fire.
There also (hopefully) will be a new sidewalk and a lamp post.
