Make it Monday: Turn an ugly painting into a cute chalkboard

It all started when I went into a local thrift shop last week.

I apologize if you like this sort of thing, but I do not. I did like the frame, though, and at barely $10, the price was right.

I took it home and started painting over the ugly painting with chalkboard paint.

I put on one coat

I let it dry, and then added a second one.

Then, I used chalk paint to paint the frame white. It took two coats.

Then, I rubbed chalk all over it to season it, and erased it. If you don’t do this, you can never erase your chalk board.

And then I hung it in my pantry, and I’m using it to help plan meals.

What thrift store makeovers have you done recently?
