Make it Mondays: Lined baskets from diaper baskets

As the mother of an almost two year old, I’ve got a ton of diaper boxes. They come in handy for a number of things: passing hand me downs to friends and even DIY storage.

You can cover them with fabric and make some super cute bins:

Did you know you can use them to make lined “baskets” as well?

All you need is jute twine, high temperature hot glue sticks and an old pillowcase.

First, cut the flaps off your diaper box.

Then, Start gluing your rope to the box. You’ll want to do the opposite of what I did and start from the bottom, though. #trialanderror

Repeat until your whole box is covered.

Keep going…

Almost there…

How far I got before running out of rope…and why you should start from the bottom.

Then go get your pillow case and slip it around your box. It won’t be an exact fit and that’s ok.

Not bad, huh?

I’m planning to make some more of these and use them in our new family room. But for now, it’s corralling some glass vases in my China hutch.

So, does anyone wanna send me some diaper boxes? Have a great day!
