Make Something Monday: make a faux pumpkin look real

I like decorating with natural elements, but sometimes those natural elements can rot and make a mess. Plus, when your toddler likes to throw things, you probably shouldn’t have real pumpkins where she can reach them.

I found this pumpkin at Walmart for a little over $5 and I liked the shape of it. I wasn’t too into the color, though.

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, then you know I don’t let color put me off. I can fix that.

Out came the Waverly chalk paint and my trusty brushes.

I think it turned out quite well, don’t you??

Don’t let color put you off. Grab that spray paint, chalk paint, or milk paint and make it what you want.

Now I have a super cute pumpkin that won’t rot or make a mess.
