Our plans for the playroom

I shared last week that we are planning to change the layout of our home. Currently, we have a galley kitchen, a nicely sized dining room and two bonus rooms. Our back bonus room is being used as a playroom.

It’s a nice sized room with two big windows that let in lots of natural light. This room is located at the back of the house, and is right beside our current dining room.

Our current dining room looks like this:

What I want to do is move the dining room into what is now the playroom and make the current dining room the kitchen.

There are some architectural changes to be made, but they’re minor. Our playroom has three large passthroughs that I would want filled in.
And this weird little pass through between the dining room and playroom.

I’d love to turn this little pass through into a tiny bar, similar to this one.

I really love these bar stools.

I’d change out the faux slate laminate we currently have and replace it with the red oak we have in the rest of the house.

I would also add the same picture frame molding that we have on the walls in our current dining room.

I’d also use the same furniture, drapes and rug.

Mainstays: Trellis Curtain Panel

                Rug: similar

I would leave the leaf in the table and get two upholstered chairs to serve as the head chairs.

Wayfair: Upholstered Dining Chair
I’d also get a really nice chandelier, similar to this one:

Shades of Light
Let’s put all of that together with a moodboard.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our future dining room. Soon, I’ll share our plans for our kitchen.

Oh, and P.S.: Guess what starts on Friday????

Yay!! Aren’t you excited??
