I am continuing our series on the Psalms of Thanksgiving. Today, I’d like to dive into Psalm 101:6.
Psalm 106 was written at a time in which the Israelites were experiencing hardship. David was admonishing the Israelites to continue to praise God, even when times are hard, because he is always faithful.
My family has struggled through the most difficult year we’ve ever had. Even now, we haven’t made it through- we are still struggling but we know that even though things are hard, God is still with us.
I have learned that even though it’s sometimes hard to see the blessings in your struggles, they are still there, and you see them in time.
This doesn’t mean you don’t struggle, you don’t have negative thoughts, and you don’t question why. I think those are all normal processes and they’re a normal part of healing.
What I do think is that you sometimes have to choose to see the positives and be thankful, even when you don’t think you can.
