Weekend reading

First of all, I’m glad this busy, stressful week is OVER! My students had state exams this week and we are all, students and teachers, counting down the days til we are OUT for summer.

We are super busy with outdoor projects and house cleaning this weekend, and with a little family time thrown in as well. Yesterday afternoon, I worked in the back yard a lot. I cleaned out some weedy flower beds and tacked back up some lattice that had fallen. I swept, cleaned out trash and rearranged some furniture. Hubby is currently outside with the weed eater getting rid of some tall weeds near our barn. Can you say “snake habitat?” All that is left to do is paint, stain the porch, pressure wash the lattice, and haul off some trash. I can’t wait to show you the finished product.

At any rate, here is what I’m reading this weekend.

  1. “Fixer Upper: Chip and JoAnna reveal their worst Fixer Upper project ever!”

I love these two and their show, but more importantly, I admire their honesty and faith. How many HGTV stars do you know who will be this candid about their mistakes and fails?

2. “Country Living: 100+ Living Room Decorating Ideas You’ll Love”

I love everything they’ve shown here! Now, someone stop me before I redecorate my living room. 🙂

3.“Southern Living: 121 Container Gardening Ideas”

I love gardening!! Most of my plants are container plants, so I truly enjoyed this feature.

4. Better Homes and Gardens: Cool Dog Bed Ideas

Looking for a new bed for Fido? Be sure to check this feature out. My fur baby likes to eat his dog beds, so I’m always looking for new (indestructible) ideas for him.

5. Uncommon Goods: Unique Gifts for Kids

I have just recently discovered this website. It has unique and interesting gifts for everyone, not just kids. The kids’ section is really cool, though. Our kindergartner has a birthday coming up this month, so I am browsing for the perfect gift for her. Be sure to check this site out; it truly does have something for everyone. And the toys are all educational, so that is a big deal for us as well.

I hope you have an amazing weekend and a wonderful week! Thanks for reading.
